Terms of entry

These terms are placeholder drafting only. The free-entry route wording and the skill question are exactly the parts that determine whether this is a lawful prize competition or an unlicensed lottery — per the build brief, they must be reviewed by a solicitor with gambling-law experience before this competition opens, not written from scratch in code comments and assumed fine. The free-entry wording below in particular (requiring an Instagram follow and DM) carries real legal risk that hasn't been reviewed — see the note at the end of this section.

Free entry route

This competition is promoted by Henry's Car Comps TRADING NAME PLACEHOLDER ("the Promoter"). This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta, Instagram, or any other social media platform. Entry is open to legal residents of the UK aged 18 or over. Employees of the Promoter, their immediate family members, and affiliated companies are not eligible. The Promoter reserves the right to verify eligibility.

Tagging friends in comments is optional and will not increase your chances of winning. Sharing the post is optional and is not a requirement for entry. Entries that do not meet the criteria below will be disqualified.

To enter for free:

  1. Follow @henryscarcomps PLACEHOLDER HANDLE on Instagram.
  2. Send a direct message to @henryscarcomps PLACEHOLDER HANDLE with your legally recognised first name, complete last name or surname, a valid and active email address, a functioning phone number, your full street address (plus a secondary address line if applicable), your town or city, your county, and your UK postcode. State clearly which competition you want to enter.

Each entry must be submitted as a single, complete direct message containing all of the above — entries split across multiple messages, or missing any required detail, may not be counted. If this is your first entry with us, your details are registered as part of logging your entry.

By entering, you agree to: abide by these terms and platform rules; allow the Promoter to use your name and likeness for promotional purposes relating to this competition; and release the Promoter and any social media platform involved from liability related to the competition. Your information is used only to administer the competition and will not be sold or shared. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with these terms, and to modify, suspend, or cancel a competition if necessary.

UNREVIEWED — Requiring an Instagram follow as a condition of a "free" entry route, and requiring entry only via direct message rather than a route with no platform account of any kind required, may be judged as adding friction or consideration beyond what Section 339 of the Gambling Act 2005 allows for a genuine free-entry alternative to a paid one. This wording was adapted from another promoter's published terms and has not been checked by a solicitor — do not rely on it as-is.
